Depicted here is Place du Paris-Notre-Dame, close to the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral in Paris, France. This work was probably painted from the top floor of the Hotel Notre Dame Saint Michel, on the other side of the Seine river. Street scenes with cars are fairly rare in the oeuvre of Jules Cavaillès. This oil painting was created in the 1970s.
